Council Information

The Immaculate Heart of Mary Council 12845 meets at St. Gall's Catholic Community in Gardnerville, Nevada. Grand Knight for fiscal year 2011-2012 is Brother Mike Mullins. You can contact this council by email at, mtmullins@charter.net or by telephone at, 775-782-7290.

Council Meetings

Council Officers Meetings are held on the Monday preceding the Council Meeting at 7:00 pm. Council Meeting's are held on the 2nd Wednesday of each month at 7:00 pm. Both meetings are held  in the Faith and Genesis rooms in St. Gall's Pastoral Center.

Columbus Hall of the Immaculate Heart of Mary

Columbus Hall is a 501(c)3 tax exempt corporation formed to build and operate a meeting and social hall for the Knights of Council 12845 and Assembly 2777. Plans were started approximately six years ago with an initial fund raising. Foundation work will begin in the near future. This will be a 5,000 square foot building with meeting space, kitchen, offices and other areas as deemed necessary. It will be located on a part of a 5 acre parcel which will have a prayer garden and storage building located on it.

About Council 12845

Immaculate Heart of Mary Council in Gardnerville, Nevada, has come a long way since its receiving its charter in January 2001. Sir Knight Al Blythe was the charter Grand Knight and Grand Knight for the first 18 months and right from the start, this council became actively involved in many programs and projects. It has been actively recruiting new members and has become a major contributor to the operation and maintenance of its home parish, Saint Gall. It has put on breakfasts, dances, golf tournaments, and Bingo Nights, and has supported community projects, helped seminarians, and participated in various religious activities.

How to Join the Knights of Columbus and our Council

Membership in the Knights of Columbus is open to practicing Catholic men in union with the Holy See, who are at least 18 years old. A practicing Catholic is one who lives up to the Commandments of God and the precepts of the Church. Application forms are available from any member of the Knights of Columbus.

Bingo

Council 12845 puts on a Bingo Night twice a month on the 2nd and 4th Fridays. Doors open at 6:00 pm with a warm up game starting at 7:00 pm. The event is open to the public and cash prizes will be awarded. Because of the cash awards, no one under the age of 21 can be admitted as required by the Nevada Gaming Control Board. The $21.00 minimum package includes a 3-card warm-up, a 10-card play package, and a blackout/progressive card. Additional cards may be purchased. A progressive jackpot is available each night. Complementary coffee and popcorn is available. Nachos, hot dogs, hamburgers, beer, wine, bottled water, and soft drinks can be purchased.

The Fourth Degree

Any Third Degree member in good standing, six months after the anniversary of his First Degree, is eligible for membership in the Fourth Degree. The primary purpose of the Fourth Degree is to foster the spirit of patriotism by promoting responsible citizenship and a love of and loyalty to the Knights' respective countries through active membership in local Fourth Degree groups (called "Assemblies"). Many members of the Fourth Degree serve as honor guards at civic and religious functions.
